Community
Involvement in the community is of paramount importance to Commercial Utility Brokers (UK) Ltd we understand that local businesses and communities are closely linked and that we can have a significant impact on communities as a whole.
Commercial Utility Brokers (UK) Ltd plays an active role in contributing to the local community. Employees are involved with the regional chambers of commerce, we provide work placements for local students and support for educational establishments. We are working with local schools encouraging business support schemes and providing practical assistance with diploma programmes.
CUB supports local charities; our aim is to encourage all staff to play a part in our local community.
Environmental Policy
CUB is committed to achieving a real and sustainable positive impact on the broader community in which we live and work. As a firm and as individuals we operate in an environmentally conscious manner. We aim to minimise the impact of our business activity on the environment, wherever possible.
Our significant area of impact is travel and consumables such as paper and IT equipment. We recognise our impact on the environment comes from:
- Travel by air, road and rail to visit clients
- Use of electricity to run office equipment
- Use of gas to heat the offices
- Resources such as paper
- Waste including paper, plastic, consumables and I.T equipment
Our aim is to:
- Avoid unnecessary travel on business by the use of video conferencing and telephone communication where possible.
- Use environmentally friendly transport where necessary consistent with business needs.
- Reduce overall resources we use.
- Aim for a paper free culture
- Reduce letters by 20% in the coming two years where possible and where electronic methods can be used
- To use recycled paper all times in the next coming year
- Install energy saving devices and lighting
Ethical Policy
We aim to conduct our business with integrity, honesty and in accordance with ethical standards. We seek to maintain the highest standards of quality whilst operating as efficiently as possible.

Our portfolio is built on satisfied customers ranging from 1994 to present. We believe that renewing customers is just as important as obtaining prospect sales therefore good relations are key.

Our suppliers are essential to our business and we are committed to maintaining good working relationships with them whilst maintaining the value of these relationships for the benefit of the company.
We will always operate with honesty and integrity.
Competition
We will conduct our business in full compliance with the law. No employee should ever assume that the group’s interests ever require anything other than strict compliance. Moreover, no one in the group has the authority to give any order or direction that will result in the violation of this policy. Local managers are responsible for ensuring that their employees comply with competition law through training, Briefing and communicating.
Integrity & Conflicts of Interest
We do not countenance the acceptance or solicitation of hospitality or gifts as these may be mistaken for an inducement or bribe or other improper enticement for business, financial or personal gain. No employees may offer, give or receive any gift or payment which is, or may be construed as being, an inducement or bribe. Any such demand or offer must be rejected and reported to management.
All employees are to avoid activities and financial interests which conflict or may conflict with their responsibilities and obligations to the group. Employees must not misuse their position with the company in order to acquire any benefit either for themselves or for others. If in doubt, please seek prior approval from immediate line manager.
Charitable and Community Support
We take our corporate social responsibility seriously and respect the legitimate interests of those with whom we have relationships and of the communities within which we work.
Responsibilities and accountabilities
The board is responsible for the group’s ethical standards and ensuring compliance with and implementation of these principles. Day to day responsibility for communication of and adherence to these principles is however delegated to managers around the group.
The code is reviewed annually and compliance with the code is monitored. The group takes breaches of the code very seriously and any breach must be reported to the appropriate senior manager. Disciplinary action will be applied in respect of any breach of this code, including, where appropriate, dismissal.
