Energy Reports

By collecting data from meters Commercial Utility Brokers (UK) Ltd can provide regular reports to assist you with energy management. Your dedicated account manager will be able to provide advice on how you can use this information to look at both energy savings and improvements, which could lead to better offers being received for your renewal.

Climate Change Levy

In response to the Kyoto protocol and the governments commitment to lower emissions The Climate Change Levy (CCL) was introduced in April 2001. There are potential exemptions on CCL for qualifying companies and Commercial Utility Brokers (UK) Ltd will be able to offer you advice.

Energy Performance Certificates

The Energy Performance Building Directive (EPBD) was introduced in January 2006 with a 2-year implementation period ending in January 2009. There are two types of energy certificates that may be required for commercial buildings and mandatory legislation for all buildings with air conditioning over a certain size. An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will be required for all buildings in construction, sale or lease from October 2008.

Penalties for not displaying the required certificate are expensive starting at £50 increasing to £1,000. To ensure you are covered by these new directives speak to your CUB account manager.

Carbon Footprint

There's good evidence that environmental issues are key to purchasing decisions made by businesses and consumers. Furthermore, it's now becoming a key requirement for businesses to show what they are doing to reduce their impact on our environment. This requirement will only grow as more and more legislation is drawn up. Reducing the size of your business carbon footprint will save money and increase your profitability and value.
